Preparing the terrain
Volunteers start to remove mud from the lake using machines, clean and tend the forest, and excavate unpaved roads to the main Lesce–Bled road. After numerous work campaigns and countless hours of voluntary work, Camping Šobec slowly began to take shape as the campsite we know today.
Construction of the first bungalows
Next was the construction of 6 bungalows and electrical installation to the camp.
The first reception
This was the year the first reception started to operate. The years that followed brought the construction of the restaurant, shop, sanitary units, basketball court, volleyball pitch, badminton court and mini-golf course.
80,000 overnight stays recorded
Camping Šobec becomes the leading Slovenian camp at that time of 37 Slovenian camps with recorded 80,000 overnight stays.
New sanitary units
Construction of new sanitary units.
New reception, restaurant and tennis courts
We opened a new reception, and converted the old one into a sweetshop. We relocated the campsite entrance, constructed tennis courts and set up information tables.
Asphalt surfaces and groundskeeping
In 1990, we started with groundskeeping and tending of the lake’s shore, including planting of new trees, renovating asphalt surfaces and a bridge over the Sava River, restoring the Sava River bank and construction of maintenance shed.
Investment into sports facilities
After the year 2000, we accelerated renovation and construction of buildings for sports activities.
The Blue Flag Certificate
Proud recipients of the Blue Flag Certificate, further arrangements of camper service stations. In 2001, the camp was the first natural bathing area in Slovenia to receive the Blue Flag Certificate. In 2001, we arranged a camper service station for drinking water, chemical discharging, vacuum cleaner and high-pressure washing.
Opening of 10 new bungalows
We opened 10 new bungalows, replacing the 6 old wooden houses.
A larger investment into infrastructure after natural disaster
2014 was marked by the rigours of the weather, destroying vast forest areas in Slovenia, and the area of our camp was no exception. More than half of our trees fell victim to the sleet damage, and we decided to thoroughly renovate our camp.
New organisation of the camping pitches
The year 2017 was very fruitful, as we completed the new treatment plant, improved municipal infrastructure and organized 250 new pitches in a contemporary way.
Extensive renovation works and new buildings to ensure your comfort
In 2018, we completed the construction of a new restaurant, shop and administrative premises. We also completed sanitary investments (opening of a new sanitary unit Nr. 5)
Opening of a new apartment, renovation of the laundry room and sanitary facility
In 2019, we renovated the sanitary facility (S2), opened a new Deluxe apartment, completely renovated the laundry room, arranged a bicycle depot and a fully equipped shower for dogs.
Special year - Covid-19
The crisis situation with the spread of the new coronavirus brings the greatest economic, financial and social shock of the 21st century. Tourism is among the most affected industries: forecasts of arrivals and traffic in tourism are declining weekly.

Certificate - GREEN KEY
In 2020, we obtained the Green Key sustainability certificate, which we are very proud of. The Green Key Certificate is the leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainability in the tourism industry.
NEW Reception
In March 2021 we have finished renovating campsite's reception building. Offices, conference room, kitchen, wardrobes, toiletes and first aid room were also renovated in the procedure.

NEW roundabout, glamping tents, solar power plant
In 2023, a new Šobec roundabout was built on the main Lesce - Bled road, 4 new glamping tents were installed and solar panels were adapted on the campsite's facilities.
