Debela peč is the easternmost 2000m mountain the the Julian Alps. Following the undemanding path from the Pokljuka plateau, the ascent is also possible in snow.

You can reach this magnificent place with great views over the Krma valley from the Pokljuka plateau, over the Zajavornik plateau and Lipanca pasture, where there is also a cottage, the Blejska koča cottage. This path is completely undemanding. The path is otherwise considered as a demanding marked path, starting from the Krma valley, and mountain climbers will delight in the challenge of a steeply cut off northern wall. When descending Mt Debela Peč, you can hop on the nearby Mt Brda (2009m) where the views of mountains Rjavina and Triglav are even more fascinating.

The peak is quite spacious, and offers astonishing views: peaks of the Julian Alps and the Karawanks with the highest peaks the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.
